I’m wonder, though if it was automatic, or something he began to understand by faith. At his immersion, when the Holy Spirit came on him, I believe he was fully conscious. However, the temptation that followed would seem to indicate that his assurance of who he was, was subject to testing: If you are the son of God That would indicate to me that it was something that had been maturing throughout his earlier life. The incident from his boyhood that’s recorded, at the age of 12, was an important point. It was close to the time of his Bar Mitzva, when he would have begun to accept the responsibilities of adulthood. He had, no doubt, been told some things by his mother, and there were obviously things going on in his own heart that brought him to an understanding of who he was. However, it would look like, from the text, that he still wasn’t fully developed as to how he should apply it. His logic told him, This is my Father’s house; therefore, it’s the place for me. This doesn’t imply that he had a sin nature, only some things that had to be sorted out. The text goes on to say that he returned to Natziret with his parents, and was subject to them as though that were something he was learning to put into perspective. In your first post, you mention questions (by some scholars) as to how could Yeshua possibly know all that and maintain a humble/sane attitude. I would look to the concept that Yeshua, being the second Adam (later developed by R.Paul), had the same sort of perception of himself as Adam would have had before the fall (sic. lacking the knowledge of good and evil). I would fall back on Rick Joyner’s ideas ( Two Trees in the Garden ) regarding the acute consciousness of good and bad that came about from the taking of the forbidden fruit. He simply accepted things as they were, and not how it would compare him to others. It neither tempted him (by its possibilities) nor scared him off. This, by itself, would have made his growing consciousness a bit less subjective for him. However, we do see hints, in the temptation, that in his adulthood, his self knowledge may have begun to mature to the point he could be tempted by its possibilities. Of crusoe, Yeshua was self-aware.Thank you for this journey back to the Beginning of who God is from deceivers, probably enjoying their ignorance and self-awareness starting with vampires and those who love evil and write about it to other imaginators neither of whom know the Living Messiah nor the Living God but want to influence others toward their darkness. I really think those who attempt to portray Yeshua as someone mundane as the rest of us by changing history denying God and who He is through intellect or science or any other way other than the Christ, Savior (Messiah) and the Son of God, the second Person of the Holy Trinity, are way too self-aware and are in denial. Thanks for addressing these Pied Piper authors. Great job!Annette Alexand says: September 2, 2012 at 7:38 am Paul wrote in the 1st century bofere the Sages and Rabbis began to say that following the Torah gave people a share in the World to Come. If you look back to Deuteronomy 11 one realises that the rewards and punishments for following the Torah are this-worldly. Ashley says: June 25, 2012 at 7:39 pm Hello webmaster.
